This morning our Owner Wendy Lisogar-Cocchia was in to do an interview with Global News 1’s Jill Krop when she met a young woman that embodies the positive spirit, beauty, confidence and kindness that we all aspire to!
Jessica Krugar was working as a painter when she was 15 years old. She was up on ladder painting when she suddenly fainted. Jessica fell 2 stories injuring her neck and back. The injuries left Jessica a quadriplegic. In one quick moment her life changed forever.
Despite the challenges she has faced, Jessica does not let anything get in the way of her dreams and goals. Today, Jessica is a student at Simon Fraser University, a competitive wheelchair rugby player and is also working as a Speaker for WorkSafeBC to encourage work place safety and prevent others from being injured on the job.
Currently Jessica has a very exciting opportunity to become the ambassador of Something Sweet in a national contest through Shoppers Drug Mart and Lise Watier – this is where we all become involved. Help us to help Jessica! She needs our votes to win the contest! She would be the perfect ambassador for Something Sweet and one of the world’s first quadriplegic models!
Please visit the link below. It is a super quick, 2 click process to vote and you do not need to enter any personal information. Voting is open until June 8th.
Thank you for being an inspiration to us all Jessica!
