This time of year is known to be a doozey for most, at least when it comes to lips. The temperature changes that go along with the winter season can wreak havoc on ones skin, especially lips. The outcome tends to be excessive dryness which leads to the ever irritating, and sometimes painful, split, chapped, & flaky look. Not only uncomfortable feeling, but not so appealing either.
To help combat this issue, we have put together a few at home steps that you can use to save your precious lips and turn them into soft, plump lips, envied by all.
At home tips & tricks:
The key to getting that perfect pout starts with a proper home care routine. People tend to forget that their lips are a part of their skin when they are cleansing their face. This area needs to be taken care of just as much the rest of the face. Cleansing, toning, and moisturizing the lip area goes a long way, as does regular exfoliation. The skin on the lips is more delicate then that of the rest of the face, so when exfoliating, make sure to use lighter pressure. See below for a simple at home lip exfoliating recipe!
Always make sure to apply moisturizer around the lip area and lip balm on the lips after cleansing and exfoliating. We recommend Spa Binge Facial Moisture Lotion. This indulgent moisturizer sooths and calms the skin, locking in moisture and giving you a radiant complexion. With the combination of Vitamin E, Shea Butter, Evening Primrose Oil, and Hyaluronic Acid your skin will feel nourished and rejuvenated. We also recommend the Aromatherapy Associates Moisturizing Lip Balm. This balm contains Calendula, rich plant oils and butters that nourish, soothe and protect lips from the elements whilst ginger, vanilla and cocoa butter delicately scent. Lips are kept moisturized, supple and smooth. Apply these products daily for perfectly soft, supple, and kissable lips!
For an added smooth and plumped up look, try one of Youngblood Mineral Makeup’s Lip Plumping Gels, available in 4 stunning shades. Youngblood’s lip gels/glosses add long-wearing color and shine to lips, while keeping them soft and supple. This conditioning, non-sticky formula provides a high gloss finish of sheer color, that wont bleed, while plumping ingredients provide noticeably plumper lips without the tingle and irritation experienced by most lip plumper’s.
Now you’re prepared to achieve that perfect pout. And don’t forget, staying hydrated inside does wonders for the outside. Making sure to keep hydrated while utilizing the above tips will ensure perfectly kissable lips any time of year!
